Name/TitleRugby Cap - Olympic games, 1908
About this objectThese caps were given to all members of the British Olympic team at the 1908 Games held in London. This one belonged to Richard Jackett. It was only the second time that rugby had ever been played at the Olympics and the competition was not considered important enough to enter a national side. Instead they asked the winners of the County Championship, Cornwall, to represent Great Britain at the Olympics. The team won a silver medal after being beaten by Australia, the only other team in the competition.
