About this objectPoster; a black and white poster commemorating the All Blacks victory against the British Lions, 1950. The poster features portraits of each member of the New Zealand team, including Jack McNab, of Owaka. Text at the top of the poster reads: "New Zealand Representatives 1950, versus British Isles. New Zealand won three, drew one". Made by Frank Thompson, Crown Studios, Wellington.
Jack McNab (b. 1924), a flanker from the Owaka club, toured South Africa in 1949 with the All Blacks. He played in three tests against the South Africans that year and another three against the British Lions in 1950.
McNab was an Owaka stalwart, playing only for that club over his whole career. Jack passed away in May of 2009, aged 85.
