About this objectLancashire County Medal presented to J. Marsh, Three Quarter Back County Champions 1890-1891. Dr James Marsh was awarded this medal for representing Lancashire during their county championship winning season of 1890-91. Marsh had twice represented his native Scotland in 1889 and, interestingly, also represented England, in 1892, on account of playing his rugby in Lancashire. A situation, if replicated in the 2010-11 season, that would render Jonny Wilkinson and Gavin Henson eligible to play for France. Marsh is the only person to have represented two home nation international ides.
