National Sports Museum
The National Sports Museum is a collaborative Australian museum that displays sporting artefacts, owned by NSM or on loan from a number of bodies. These bodies include the Melbourne Cricket Club, Melbourne Cricket Ground Trust through the Australian Gallery of Sport and Olympic Museum, Australian Football League, Sport Australia Hall of Fame, Australian Racing Museum and Cricket Australia. Displays are augmented by a range of contemporary multimedia exhibits.
The collection entities contributing artefacts for display at the NSM also include the Victorian Olympic Committee, Australian Olympic Committee and other national sporting associations.
The NSM commenced accessioning items into its own collection in October 2008. The NSM collection covers all sports, played at all levels by Australians.
